Athens Rock Lobsters Claim Continental Division Title, Set Sights on Commissioners Cup Playoffs

The Athens Rock Lobsters have officially secured the 2025–26 Continental Division Championship in the Federal Prospects Hockey League, marking another historic milestone for the organization as they prepare to enter the Commissioner’s Cup Playoffs next week. With a decisive victory over the Monroe Moccasins in Louisiana, the Rock Lobsters have officially outclawed the competition and solidified their place at the top of the division standings heading into postseason play.

The win secures first place in the Continental Division for the 2025–26 season and positions Athens with strong momentum as playoff hockey arrives at Akins Ford Arena. Game One of the Commissioner’s Cup Playoffs is set for Thursday, April 17, as the Rock Lobsters host the Pee Dee Ice Cats in what is expected to be one of the most electric atmospheres of the season.

Throughout the 2025–26 campaign, the Rock Lobsters have continued to establish themselves as one of the fastest-rising teams in professional hockey, building on record-setting attendance, sellout crowds, and an energized fanbase known as Crustacean Nation. The team’s ability to perform consistently in high-pressure situations has been a defining factor in their run to the top of the Continental Division standings.

While the division title has now been secured, the regular season is not quite complete. The Rock Lobsters will face the Monroe Moccasins one final time on Saturday, April 11, closing out the regular season before shifting full focus to the postseason and the pursuit of the 2026 Commissioner’s Cup Championship.

With playoff intensity building and the stakes higher than ever, the Rock Lobsters enter the postseason with confidence, momentum, and the support of one of the most passionate fanbases in the league. Fans are encouraged to wear red, bring the energy, and help create a playoff atmosphere worthy of a division champion as Athens prepares to host Game One on April 17 at Akins Ford Arena.

The road to the Commissioner’s Cup runs through Athens and the Rock Lobsters are ready to defend their home ice.
